I miss Wally Pfister. The cinematography isn't as good as Nolan's other movies, and I can only assume it is because Pfister. DPs apparently don't get enough credit. The space scenes aren't as beautiful/great as Gravity. Heck, some scenes just seemed out of focus.
The story kind of reminded me of the Hobbit where they go linearly from one danger to the next. The subplots aren't developed enough to make them that compelling and seem like after thoughts (its not like they didn't have enough time to develop them.
A scene where Mcconaughey's character is wrestling/fighting with another almost seemed comical.
Shortening the movie through editing wouldn't have made it better. The problems are bigger than that.
I did enjoy the black hole, the concepts of space, time, gravity, communication through time etc.
Not as good as Memento, Inception, or which ever Batman was your favorite of the three. But probably as good as the Batman you liked least.
